The SXSW Film Festival awarded Elizabeth Hobbs’ The Debutante’ the Animated Short Award. They said: “In a unique and unapologetic blast of mixed media animation, this bold, bizarre fairy tale is at once hilarious and casually brutal. It affects deeply with a gestural approach to image and sound, and the layered artistry begs for multiple viewings.”
The Debutante is a film by Elizabeth Hobbs, produced by Animate Projects, with the support of the BFI awarding funds from the National Lottery, and with thanks to the Estate of Leonora Carrington.
