The 2019 EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees have been announced and Fonic is very proud to have worked with one of this year’s nominations.
ROUGHHOUSE by Jonathan Hodgson and Richard Van Den Boom at Hodgson Films has been nominated in the British Short Animation category. The film follows three friends as they embark on a new adventure in a strange town. However, their loyalties to one another are torn apart with terrifying consequences when a manipulative new member joins their gang.
Fonic recorded and edited the voice over for this powerful film and wish Johnathan, Richard and all the Roughhouse team the best of luck.
In addition, long time collaborator with Fonic, Elizabeth Hobbs’ film; I’M OK has also been nominated in the animation short form category, and although we were not involved with this film, we are delighted to see Elizabeth getting the recognition she deserves for this spectacular film.
I’M OK follows the life of expressionist artist Oskar Kokoschka during the year 1915, which was a significant moment in his life. He’s tempestuous love affair with Alma Mahler ended dramatically and he volunteered to fight in the Great War. The film explores Kokoschka’s frame of mind following his heartbreak and the traumatic experience of war through the artist’s prints and paintings.
The 2019 EE British Academy Film awards will take place on Sunday 10 February.
