The 2020 EE British Academy Film Awards nominees have been announced. The awards recognise the very best in film of the past year and take place on Sunday 2 February at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Fonic is very proud to have worked with one of this year’s nominations, creating the sound design for a beautiful short film Grandad was a Romantic by film maker Maryam Mohajer.

The film in narrated by a child who documents the love life of her Grandad who is a passionate romantic. She tells the story of how her Grandad came across a picture of her Granny for the first time, and decided that she must be the love of his life. He goes onto marry her, and they start a family together, but Grandad’s boundless romance never dies and leads him to make some reckless decisions.
