We are delighted that Lizzy Hobbs’s film The Debutante has been shortlisted for the Oscars’ Animated Short Film category and has advanced to the next round of voting, thanks to the Animator Festival in Poland for awarding the film the ‘Golden Pegasus Grand Prize’ which qualified the film for the Academy Awards.

15 films have advanced in the Animated Short Film category for the 95th Academy Awards, 81 films originally qualified in the category. Members of the Short Films and Feature Animation Branch who determined the shortlist now have to vote for the final nominees.

The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday 24 January 2023, and the Academy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday 12 March 2023, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
