Tony Fish

Tony Fish

Many of you will already be aware, but it is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to let you know that Tony Fish passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 4th at the age of 79.
It goes without saying how he touched so many of us with his magical and inspiring personality. His passion and incredible talent for storytelling through the medium of film editing and sound was unique.
I had the honour of meeting Tony when he was teaching me sound at The National Film School. Since then he has been an amazing friend and mentor to me for over 20 years. Tony I love you and I miss you dearly.
If you would like to write any tributes, stories, memories of Tony. Please email through to pic.fish@hotmail.co.uk

Barnaby

Tony fell on 7th December and became bedridden the next day.

He was at home for three weeks and then taken to Whittington Hospital with a collapsed lung pneumonia and damaged kidneys from dehydration. He was given 24 hours, but survived.

However whilst treating him it was discovered he had lung cancer which had spread to his spine. He was given radiotherapy on 12th January to stop the spread. However it was then found to have spread to his lymph glands, liver etc, and was unfortunately too ill to treat. He therefore came home where he remained bedridden.

He was taken to the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead on Monday 27th February, where he died peacefully in his sleep on 4th March 2023.

The care we were given by the NHS, our GP Dr Dickie the various carers and Marie Curie was exceptional, and my two sons Luke and Aron were magnificent in the care and love they gave to their father and me.
