Fonic was delighted to continue our collaboration with award-winning director Johnny Kelly and Nexus Studios on Feeling Good, a commercial for Austrian energy company Energie AG to promote Austria’s first electricity tariff specifically designed for Gen Z (anyone up to 28),
Created by Nexus Studios in collaboration with Studio Sonntag, the campaign transforms everyday electricity sockets into soulful singing characters. Combining live action with animation, Johnny Kelly tracked animated facial performances onto real European power outlets, creating a distinctive blend of realism and character.
Working closely with the creative team, Fonic crafted the commercial’s complete soundscape, integrating a new recording of Nina Simone’s classic Feeling Good, performed by SIPHO, with detailed sound design and Foley.
Feeling Good is an example of how thoughtful sound design and Foley can add emotion, personality and realism to animation, helping even the simplest objects connect with an audience.
