Hey Duggee
Described as one of the great triumphs of 21st century children’s television.
Fonic has been collaborating with Astley Baker Davies since the first series of Peppa Pig. The series is an international hit and is broadcast in more than 180 countries worldwide.
Peppa Pig is an animation series for pre-school children about a cheeky and slightly bossy little pig called Peppa. She lives with her mummy and daddy and her little brother, George. Each episode concerns a situation that will be familiar to small children (bath time, muddy puddles, snow, birthdays, a rainy day, dressing up, helping mummy and playing games etc). The adventures are fun, sometimes involve a few tears, but always end happily, with Peppa and her little brother George learning something new. Along the way, there is plenty of snorting and laughter. Peppa Pig is funny and charming in a way that will appeal to small children and the parents watching with them.
Fonic covers the full audio post production service on the series and films, as well as other merchandise and platforms.

Peppa Pig has a large licensing programme that generates in excess of one billion dollars of sales annually.
Currently Peppa Pig is the leading pre-school brand in the UK, Spain, Italy and Australia with large rollouts underway in the USA, China, South America and Russia.
Astley Baker Davies have been working with Fonic since the very first series of 'Peppa Pig' in 2003. We continue to work with them on all our other projects, including 'Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom' and 'The Big Knights'.
Animation comes alive with sound. It is sound that gives animation its weight. Peppa and her friends do a lot of walking and Fonic lay a sound for every single footstep – hundreds and hundreds of footsteps. I sometimes wonder how many footsteps Fonic must have laid in all the years of working on Peppa. And to produce the uniques spot sounds for every episode, Fonic do Foley sessions where Foley artists create sounds using a mixture of everyday props and floor surfaces.
In fact Fonic provide all the raw sound for each episode apart from the music and voices.
They completely handle the final mix and delivery of sound back to us in all the forms we need, including M&E tracks for foreign language versions.
We mix in Stereo and 5.1 and also have to deliver a version of the mix for cinema showings. For this cinema mix they take us to Elstree, where we can experience the soundtrack in a cinema dubbing theatre.
Peppa aims to look simple and effortless and in animation terms that involves a lot of work behind the scenes. I think Fonic’s approach to sound is similar – a lot of work to produce something that feels simple and exactly as it should be. Nothing more or less.
And of course Fonic’s secret location – underneath a working city farm – adds to the magic.
I can’t imagine going anywhere else for sound design and mixes.
