Red Dress No Straps

British-Iranian, BAFTA Winning animator-director Maryam Mohajer’s ‘Red Dress No Straps’ is set in Tehran in 1985 during the Iran-Iraq War. It is just an ordinary evening at Marmar’s grandparents home; Grandad is listening to Voice of America on the radio and Marmar is waiting for Granny to finish making her a dress, which matches a glamorous American pop star dress on a poster; strapless and red.
