Picturehouse Cinemas – The Love of Cinema and A Night at the Cinema

Client | Picturesmith

Fonic worked with Picturesmith animation studio to create the soundtracks for two of Picturehouse cinemas idents, which currently play before every film.

Both idents’ artwork were made using paper cutouts, a gesture to the art and craft of filmmaking. You can find out more about the creation process of these idents on the Picturesmith website.

The 2017 version celebrates the Picturehouse family of cinemas and film itself, whilst the second ident, A Night at the Cinema, which started being shown in 2019, coincides with the cinemas new branding and reflects the Picturehouse experience.

Client Testimonial

The Love of Cinema:
Creating content for the silver screen has to be picture perfect with audio to match. Fonic’s creative and technical input was invaluable and made them the perfect creative partner for this project.

A Night at the Cinema:
To help create the new Picturehouse ident we were keen to work with Fonic once again. The new ident has lots going on, and the sound design needed to be handled with care so there wasn’t lots of noise competing with each other and the picture. The result was a perfect complement to the visual story.
