Cisco – Evolution of Success

Client | Trunk

CISCO, the worldwide leader in IT, networking and cybersecurity solutions and the cutting edge of technology. For their film created by Trunk animation, they decided to take the ‘cutting edge’ literally, and armed with scalpels, scissors, crazy glue, building blocks, straws and card, Trunk created decades of office tech out of card. The aim that the handmade direction of the film provided personality and human touch, to contrast to the technological precise business of CISCO Systems Inc Systems Inc.

The film centred around an office desk, and as the set spins, the decades change, so does the tech. This sense of time passing is also reflected in the lighting starting the film in morning sunlight travelling through to the afternoon and finally into evening light. Composer, Ivan Arnold, built on the theme of time by composing a track that in a way feels timeless, with a mixture of acoustic and electric, pushing the narrative forward. Fonic created the sound design adding extra coherence to the time the office was set, and Lorraine Hodgson voiced the narrative which gave the film the finishing touch.
