Relationship Goals

Tender, a charity working with young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence, created Relationship Goals, a gaming-based digital tool and web platform for schools to help neurodiverse young people and those with learning disabilities (SEND) to understand and practise healthy relationships. The aim of the game was to create a lasting, positive impact on how players approach real-life social interactions and empowering them to have healthy, equal relationships that enrich their lives.

Digital development of the game was funded by the Tech for Good fund, a fund set up and run by Comic Relief and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, to enable digital innovation in non-profit organisations to improve people’s lives through technology. Tender asked Milo Creative, an app development agency, to be their Tech for Good technology partner and Milo Creative got Fonic on board for the voice records.

Fonic recorded all the actors – over four thousand lines! Each line was recorded three times and after each record the best take was selected and noted. This project was slightly more complicated because the naming was different to our more traditional project as it needed to collaborate with the game’s program.
