HMV – Nipper & Gramophone’s Christmas Tales
Following HMV’s revamp of the iconic 1899 Francis Baurrad painting of dog and gramophone logo, the high street store moved into animation for their Christmas campaign with Fonic providing sound.
Vodafone Ireland Christmas advertising campaign for 2013 was directed by Nexus Studio and FX Goby, created by Grey London and devised by Creative Director Simon Brotherson.
Featuring character designs from renowned artist Sanna Annukka the film follows a young reindeer coming home for Christmas, and his mother plotting a surprise celebration with all of his friends & family to welcome him back. Goby was tasked with translating Annuka’s illustration into a beautiful piece of animation. A full CG approach was used giving the characters including a tactile feel which was inspired by the lacquered Wooden Swedish Dala Horses. This is all captured using a filmic treatment, to give the impression of being shot with real cameras and lighting in a studio environment.
Fonic worked across the audio post production.
