‘And Granny Would Dance’ received its world premiered at Palm Springs ShortFest 2024, where it won the Audience Award for Best Animated Short!
‘And Granny Would Dance’ follows six year old Marmar who listens in on her grandmother’s friends laughing about their partners as they play an illicit game of cards. Based on the director’s memories of her childhood, And Granny Would Dance is a tale of love, grief and resilience across generations.
Fonic provided voice & music records and full audio post production for ‘And Granny Would Dance’ which was produced by Animate Projects, with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery.
We are so proud to be working with Maryam and Animate Project again and wish the film lots of success as it starts its festival run!
